General Info

I love lore. I love it I love it I love it. But I also really like my fandoms and the fandom characters, so please go wild and explore lore and world building… but preferably *with* canon characters (even if they’re minor), and not OCs. An OC can be useful (going to write a kidfic, or use a classmate as an antagonist for a developmental point for a particular character? Great!), but I don’t like OCs as the main characters or relationship partner(s). Tell me about how X came to be, or why Y character is so hung up on a certain thing, or how things would have changed if something had fallen out differently in canon. 

I love character development and interpersonal relationships, not necessarily of a sexual nature. I don’t need a big complex arc of murder and mayhem or world-ending seriousness: I’m happy with fluff and vignettes and even a nice 5+1 once in awhile with “five times X was an idiot and one time they weren’t”. 

If you’re writing a slashfic for me, it doesn’t need to be explicit; fade to black is fine, just show me the emotion and the setup. If you want to go explicit, that’s fine too - just don’t feel obligated! :D

General Likes: diving into lore, character studies, interpersonal relationships, happy/positive endings, exploring alternate paths (AUs based on plot deviation are GREAT!). 

General DNWs: second person POV, reader-insert/self-insert, original characters as major characters, coffee shop/tattoo parlor AUs, A/B/O AUs (either in worldbuilding sense or smut). Backstory/reference to child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault is okay but I do *not* want it to be core/central to the fic. Down with the kyriarchy.

If the gender swap is in order to explore how a character would be different because of cultural conditioning, or exploring the representation of a gender binary, I’m okay with it. If it’s swapping for the sake of swapping, please pass. Thanks!

Fandom Specific Info

MORTAL KOMBAT
 

So what I love about the fandom isn’t the over-the-top gore, it’s the lore. We have interdimensional travel, multiple realms, cultural merging and adaptation, the conflict of magic vs technology, and badass people kicking butt. There’s a lot of really cool lore and exploration of characters to do.

I love Sonya Blade above everyone and everything else. Sonya is my girl. I like MKX Sonya most of all, but I'll take the MK11 Sonya in a pinch (just not the VA for her). I am a Sonya multishipper, mostly with Kenshi (they're close friends at the very least, and she uses his first name, dammit!) and Johnny but I'm willing to entertain other options if you can sell me on them. She's a grown woman with adult feelings and issues - and likely PTSD from the Netherrealm War and watching her friends turn into undead evil monsters, and everything else she's endured. I love her so very much. Treat my girl well - or give her angst but a happy ending - and I'll almost always be happy. 

I also like Jade and her complicated backstory - General in the Edenian Resistance? One of Shao Kahn's best bodyguards and assassins? Kitana's BFF? Kotal Kahn's girlfriend? Kung Lao's focus of interest? She's complicated and delightful and doesn't get nearly as much TLC as she should. 

MK11 did one thing for Mileena, at least - they helped develop her into more than just a bloodthirsty half-Tarkatan clone. Mileena wants family. How would things be different if Kitana had accepted her (a la MK9 ending) and they worked together? What about her MK11 ending with Tanya and a daughter? What if Rain hadn't betrayed her rebellion/resistance in MKX? What if she had managed to hold on to power? 

Particular likes: character development, playing with the dialogues and the arcade endings (MK Warehouse has dialogues for MKX and MK11, and YouTube has all the arcade endings for MK9/MK2011, MKX & MK11).

Particular dislikes: Not a huge fan of the guest characters (I kinda like Robocop’s arcade ending with the transdimensional police force but that’s about it), and I’m not a huge fan of MK11/Aftermath (the whole thing is a *mess*). 

 
GHOST OF TSUSHIMA

Again, more love of lore - and with Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, there’s supernatural playtime, too! In real life, I adore textiles, so all the patterns and descriptions of clothing and fabric and material, the costuming on the characters, is stuff I adore. If you like that too, go wild. If you don’t want to write fight scenes, don’t feel obligated to.

Tell me what happened to Tomoe after she got on that ship. Tell me what happened with her before she joined Ishikawa, why she did what she did, where she went after we last see her in canon. Does she ever see Jin again (I do ship them!), or does she build a life without him as an archer or an inn-owner on the mainland? What happens to Jin after we see him last? What happens to Yuna? What about Lady Masako, and Mai? What would have, could have, happened to Ryuzo or Taka if they’d lived?

If you want to write something shippy: I’m not much into M/M, but I can ship Jin & Ryuzo (less so Taka), and Jin/Ryuzo/Yuna, but I definitely think there’s something juicy with Jin & Tomoe.

Particular likes: fix-its where Ryuzo lives, character exploration for Tomoe, Lady Masako, Mai, and Lady Sanjo(!), all like three minutes we meet her.

Particular dislikes: No Lord Shimura/Jin or Jin/Kenji, please. I don’t particularly like Kenji as a character overall, so he can certainly be around but I’d prefer he not be central.  
 

OVERWATCH

I love this fandom, I can't even count the ways.

GIVE ME LORE, BABY! There’s a lot of juicy stuff to explore for interpersonal relationships, the Omnic Crisis, the Fall of Overwatch, what could lead up to Overwatch 2 and the rise of Null Sector… Tell me about D.Va and the other MEKA pilots and the Gwishin, or how McCree and Sombra ended up in that bar in ‘Reflections’, or why Gabe loves costuming, or why Hanzo talks about ‘The Shimada empire will rise again’ in his Halloween voice line… There’s so much neat stuff to explore between the game itself, the comics, the dialogue lines, the animated shorts… Go wild.

Particular likes: Building character connections we don’t necessarily see in-game (like Mei and Mercy, or DVa and Genji, or Baptiste and Ashe).

Particular dislikes: Shimadacest, Moira/Mercy (I love them as antagonists but don’t ship them), Mercy/Brigitte (friends, yes, but Mercy watched Brigitte grow up so I can’t ship them).

* Brigitte/Hana: These two. I just can’t even. I write for them (both gen & explicit) and I love reading different iterations of them too. Young, smart, technical/mechanical, committed to defending others. I don’t care how they meet - tell me! Do they meet post-Zero Hour/Recall? Do they meet before then? How? 

* Ashe/Hanzo: Hanzo has a line about “The Shimada empire will rise again”. What if that was with the aid of Ashe, who has her own baggage with family and being betrayed by family? Maybe they’re old family friends from her wealthy parents’ business dealings; maybe Hanzo heads to Arizona in pursuit of something (background/prior McHanzo is fine) and he seeks Ashe out, or maybe Ashe gets something and decides to find the missing Shimada heir… Also, you know, Hanzo looks damn good in his Scion & Casual skins, and Ashe has a pretty sweet selection of her own.

* Ashe/Sombra: This is a delicious pairing without nearly enough content. Did Sombra do work for/with Deadlock? Does she have something on Ashe that Ashe will do (almost) anything to keep quiet? Does Ashe know Sombra from social things, completely and wholly outside Gangster/Hacker relationship possibilities?

* Ashe/Jesse: Tell me about how they were young and stupid together. Tell me about how Deadlock formed, or how Jesse got caught and their farewell (if they had one). Tell me about the years that passed between Ashe and Jesse while he was with Overwatch (an epistolary fic could be fun!), or set it after the Fall of Overwatch - maybe what Jesse does after recovering Echo. Do he and Ashe get back together? Is it happy, or sad? Do they stick together and make something of it or does it all fall apart in a mess?

* Ashe/Jesse/Hanzo: I’m not usually into M/M but I feel like they’re all committed to family and the idea of being/forming a found family really appeals to me. I can easily see the three of them tumbled together in a shared bed, a triangle rather than a V-shape.

* Genji/Mercy: I love these two, too. I also write them (gen and explicit) and adore other takes. Tell me about Blackwatch, or about maaaaybe even an AU (which I usually don’t love): Mercy as an exchange student/foreign student to Japan? Medical student doing a foreign hospital rotation? Does she meet and coax the playboy Shimada to her, does he woo her instead? Do they bond over the loss of family and somehow she finds something in Genji, and the Shimada, that was denied to her after her family died in the Omnic Crisis?

* Sombra/Jesse: Tell me about why they’re in a bar together on Christmas in Reflections. Did they meet each other before the bar, or was this the first time they met? Did they even actually *talk* or are they still unknowns, and Jesse wakes up after that? Other ideas… Is there a thing between them - Sombra trying to find out who he really is? What has she heard about him from Reaper/Gabriel, and Moira? Does she try to coax him to Talon or keep him out of it? Maybe she keeps an eye out for him and helps him because they became friends some other way, and at one point one or both of them decide to make a go for a casual relationship - or a more serious one. Sombra’s always looking for family (Los Muertes, Talon)… what might she find with Jesse? What might he find with her?

* Ashe/Sombra/Jesse: See above with Ashe/Sombra, Ashe/Jesse, Sombra/Jesse. I see family, plays with politics/money/jobs/heists… maybe Jesse had Sombra feed the intel about Echo to Deadlock and somehow they all come together in a glorious, angry mess? Or maybe they all find a way, after Echo’s recovery (& the Train Job) to become another found family, or at least polycule, or even just an angry glorious one-night stand.

* Baptiste & Sombra: How are they friends?

* Bap/Mercy:  They're friends - they met in Venezuela between the Fall of Overwatch & Bap's short story (What You Left Behind). Maybe they're more than friends? Maybe they had a one-night stand (or a two or three night stand) while he was working with her? Maybe they get together after Recall and she tries to coax him to join Overwatch? (I can also see adding Genji to this mix, so if you wanted to Mercy/Baptiste/Genji I'm a-OK with that). They're both medical, but he's more combative than she is: do they work really well together, is this a source of arguments/debates?
 

THE WITCHER

I have read the books, played the 2nd & 3rd games, and watched the show, so I'm not super picky about which setting you play in. I don't like the inherent misogyny in the setting in the books, but love the dark plot of the stories and setting without it being utterly grimdark-hopeless. Triss, Ciri, Saskia (from the 2nd game + a comic), Cerys... they're all wonderful. Oh, and Geralt, too. :) I don't totally get him & Yen, but that's okay. I have no strong feelings about any of relationships in the request, except that if you're comfortable writing Saskia, I'd *love* to see it. She's been confirmed as alive after the comic (per a tweet) and so has so many adventures she could get up to!
